Social Sciences Co-operative Education Program
The Faculty of Social Sciences Co-op Program allows full-time students in a variety of departments - including Geography - the opportunity gain experience through 13-16 week work terms.

Earth Science Program
In recent years, many academic institutions throughout the world have recoginized the need for problem solving skills that integrate the strengths of Geology, Geophysics, Geography and Archaeology. This integration of the theoretical and practical components of all four disciplines is at the heart of the Earth Science Program.

Environmental Sciences Program
The University of Calgary's Environmental Science Program emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding environmental issues facing society. Students in the program are provided with a foundation in biology, chemistry, geography, geology, physics, statistics and the social sciences. Environmental Science majors are also exposed to extensive field experiences. The program has a problem-solving focus with various environmental management themes.

Urban Studies Program
Urban Studies is a broad interdisciplinary program designed to provide an integrated understanding of the social, political, economic, cultural, and geographic processes that shape urban life.

Latin America Studies
Latin American Studies explores the political, economic and cultural diversity of Latin America in the context of the hemisphere. This three faculty degree program offers students Spanish training from the Faculty of Humanities, a critical social perspective from many disciplines of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and experiential field courses and seminars from the Faculty of Communication and Culture
